"Polihale Beach Park – is one of the longest stretches of white sand beaches in the state of Hawaii, and also the widest. This culturally and spiritually significant area was believed by ancient Hawaiians to be a departure point for souls, where they would leave this world for the spirit world." trykauai.com
Like many places on Kauai, it's spectacular and you pretty much have it all to yourself. Not many people make it this far. (Just keep going about 5 miles after the road ends.) Polihale is one of Uncle Travis' favorite places on Earth. I hope to catch a sunset there someday.
tunnels beach- This beach is named for the underwater lava tubes. A snorkel is all you need to see these underwater views. The turtle was only about 20 ft. from the beach.
